My brother and I - getting ready to go scare the neighbors!

My dad "dressing up" for the picture
Here are a couple of Halloween Memories that I came upon when looking through my parent's old photo album. I guess I'm showing my age by posting these pictures of us in our plastic masks. I remember how hot and sweaty it would get inside those masks. Combine that with a cold Halloween night and you have a very unpleasant combination!
My dad would usually be the one that took my brother and I around on Halloween night and mom would stay home to greet the trick-or-treaters and to hand out candy. Looking back I think it's kind of interesting that they both didn't come. Perhaps they did when we were younger. We would visit houses in our neighborhood and then I couldn't wait to get home to finish handing out the candy. I loved to see all the scary and fun Halloween costumes. I especially loved seeing the really little kiddles.
Both of my folk's have since passed away, so looking back on these photos brings back some bittersweet memories.
What special memories do you have of Halloween?
I hope you get a chuckle out of them and Happy Halloween to one and all!!

LOL~ when I was looking at those photos and before I read what you wrote I was thinking, "man! didn't we get hot and sweaty under those plastic masks! And didn't ya' hate it when the stretchy band would break and snap you on the cheek? :-)
Nonetheless, fun memories!
Blessings.
I remember having a Wonder Woman costume like that! Oh, the memories!
Love it!! My favorite memory is when we were dirt poor, and my Dad was in college. They made us hobo looking clowns and it was so fun! They are my favorite pics too!
I remember costumes like those. Now I'm all nostalgic.
great photos! I love pieces of nostalgia!
Gotta say--the Bozo costume is absolutely terrifying--but then, I'm a bit clown phobic! ;o)
Great pics! I have a similar of my brother and myself--I'm wearing a bunny costume with a princess mask--my mom made the bunny costume, then couldn't find a bunny mask--so I went as a princess bunny!
Blessings!
I love this - I used to have that costume - gorgeous!
what beautiful pictures and beautiful memories. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Wait what do mean showing your age?! I used to have these same costumes and I am not that old! Well at least I try not to think that I am that old!
Great memories you have!
I'm curious to hear what he thinks of it (The Road) as well. Something about it just creeped me out, at the same time I could hardly put it down until I finished it.
i so remember thos ehot and probably dangerous plastic masks...what a long time ago. i think i'm old...but i covered my grey again yesterday. i guess i have that going for me!
I so remember having costumes like that!!!!
That is too funny. I always remember the Halloween my mom dressed my sister and I as an old man and old lady. She found these masks and then got some old clothes to dress us in, and everyone thought it was the funniest thing. I'm still embarrassed by it though because my entire family loves to whip out those pictures of us. And the crazy thing is that my sister and I have always pretty much hated each other, but we were the happy old couple that night I guess.
Oh, and welcome to BF contributing!! I almost forgot.
