Welcome......

Here I am in the blogging world, a place I thought I would never be. Who wants to hear what I have to say? What is blogging, how do I do it……all questions I asked myself yesterday – LOL! And I am still such a newbie at this I have a lot to learn but I’m jumping in anyway, so bear with me, please!

When I first heard about blogging I thought no way would I waste my time like that. I thought it was just to air your political views, which I have no problem with usually, or babbling on about nothing and why would I be interested in someone else’s life. But I have been learning more and more about it since I have started my online retail business and I definitely see the importance and the potential that this can have. It’s a perfect networking opportunity!

Most importantly, it gives me a way to connect to potential customers (I think that the personal touch when shopping is so important), and this allows for that in the virtual world. It takes away that impersonal feeling which shopping online can certainly do. Especially for large companies that can’t possible take the time to get to know their customers. This allows for that connection. I want to connect to people who care about purchasing quality children’s clothing from a country that truly can use the help and where the people making the clothing are actually improving their lives because of your purchase. The company who’s clothes I am representing CARE about their employees and pay them fairly (fair trade) for their work so they can enrich their lives and their family’s lives. I want to stress how important this is and how much it means to me and to them.

See, I said I didn’t know what to say and I’ve already babbled on enough. But check out my website (www.hippostoes.com), to learn more about this fun and whimsical children’s clothing line. I am planning to actually launch the site the end of August! That is my goal, but I know how those things can go. But for now I’m holding to that time period.
